Friday the 13th

I won’t assume, but I’m sure you’ve heard of the word, “Triskaidekaphobia”, which is the fear of the number 13?

I did not know, until today, that there is another word even more related to this day. That word is “Paraskevidekatriaphobia”. which apparently is the fear of the actual day of Friday the 13th. I’m told it comes from the Greek word “Paraskevi”, which is Friday. Cool.

And, while this sounds like it might be completely fabricated, there is another word related to the fear of Friday the 13th called, “Friggatriskaidekaphobia”, which is based on a Norse word. “Frigg” which apparently is the Norse Goodess for Friday.

So if you do have a semi-irrational fear of Friday the 13th, my advice would be to actually try to pronounce the three words above, over and over again. At the very least, it will probably take your mind off your fear today!
