A Smooth(ie) start to your day!

Inspiration came from a couple of people I know, but this is a pretty delicious way to start the day!

The best part about a smoothie is that you can add — or remove — whatever you like.  You can experiment on quantities as well, depending how thick you like it to be.  Be sure your blender can handle the frozen stuff.  Kate uses a Ninja.  I’ve been using a Magic Bullet since the spectacular demise of my blender.

This is the smoothie I’ve been hooked on for a while now:

Big handful of blueberries, fresh or frozen
One banana, fresh or frozen into smaller pieces
Two large handfuls of spinach
Tbsp all natural peanut butter
3/4 scoop of chocolate protein powder
chocolate almond milk (or regular unsweetened almond milk and some cocoa)
6-8 ice cubes, depending on size

Blend away and enjoy!
