Please Don’t Go…

Most of us have lost someone we loved.  Whether family or friend, sometimes our wishes for them to stay are more selfish than anything.  But that’s our nature.  We want to keep loving the ones we love as long as we can.  I realize how incredibly lucky and privileged I have been to love my grandparents a lot longer than a lot of people ever get to.  My Nana is 90 now and the last one I have.  My first grandparent died when I was 28.  And in my forties I have lost two more, my Pops just this past weekend.  He was 93…and healthy up until a couple of weeks before he died.  And by then he was ready.  He thought 93 years was long enough.  He had a good life.  He really did.  And yet, it’s still hard to let them go, isn’t it?

But we can do that, hard as it may be, and still go on loving them.

This video by Irish singer Stephanie Rainey had nearly one and a half million views on Facebook in its first day.  It’s for anyone who has lost a loved one, especially those gone too soon.  I’m sure it will resonate with you, too.
