Birthday boy Sam Smith undergoes successful vocal cord surgery
Sam Smith probably isn’t singing Happy Birthday to himself today.
The British superstar, who turns 23 today, is recovering from successful vocal cord surgery in Boston.
Massachusetts General Hospital said that Smith underwent laser microsurgery at the hospital’s Voice Center to stop a recurrent problem of vocal cord bleeding.
The Grammy winner is said to make “a full recovery” from the surgery.
Smith’s condition is the “result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture and prevent vocal performance,” the hospital statement said.
Meanwhile, Sam received a very special present from his sisters – an authentic Harry Potter wand. You can see him posing with it HERE
