Celine Dion says husband is “fighting’ for his life
Celine Dion was in Las Vegas this weekend for a charity gala. Her husband René Angélil was not in attendance but he insisted Celine be there.
“He wants me to be here,” said Céline. “He wants me strong, he wants me back, he wants to see me again.”
Angélil has begun aggressive “life-saving cancer treatment” in Boston at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital.
The 73 year old was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 and has had several surgeries to treat it — including an operation in 2013 that included removal of part of his tongue. hel has limited speech, eats through a feeding tube, and has lost some hearing due to radiation treatments.
“René is fighting very hard and he’s a trooper,” explained Céline. “I’m amazed; I’ve always been because I married him. I know he could support and create a career for me, but as my husband and the father of my children, he’s done so much more.”
