A judge has trimmed more than $2 million from the damages Robin Thicke & Pharrell Williams were ordered to pay to the family of late Motown star Marvin Gaye regarding their “Blurred Lines” copyright case.  The reason was that the original amount is not supported by the evidence.

The payout is now $5.3 million.

However, Gaye’s heirs will also get a share of any future earnings from the song, including 50% of future songwriting and publishing revenues.
