Janet Jackson, The Cars, Cheap Trick among those named as nominees for 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Eight of the 15 potential honorees for induction next year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are first-timers.

Cheap Trick, Chaka Khan , Janet Jackson, Steve Miller, Chicago and The Cars are among the first-time nominees just announced as being considered for this honour, voted on by members of the music industry.

The inductees will be announced in December. Fans can also vote on the rock hall’s website.

Bands such as Chic, Deep Purple, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, the Smiths, the Spinners and Yes are back in the fray, having been considered for the nomation in the past.
