After being fired from SNL, Taran Killam & Jay Pharoah Land Showtime Pilots

Saturday Night Live vets Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah — who we learned earlier this week were FIRED from Saturday Night Live — have both scored pilot deals at Showtime, the network announced on Thursday.

Killam will star in the tentatively titled Mating, which is a comedy anthology series that focuses on a freshly divorced guy who got married at a young age and is now trying to navigate a much-changed, complicated dating world.

 

Pharoah, meanwhile, will headline the half-hour comedy White Famous, which is being executive-produced by Jamie Foxx, among others.

We still don’t know what was going through Lorne Michaels‘ head earlier this week when he decided to fire both of them after six years on Saturday Night Live… but it may have been the best thing possible for their careers.
