Demi Lovato said on Twitter that she once pranked her bodyguard by hiring a hooker to go into his room and grab his junk.  After a bunch of people called that sexual assault, Demi apologized.

It all started innocently enough, when a bored Demi Lovato asked her followers to throw some questions at her after her show Saturday night. “Let’s do a Q&A” she tweeted excitedly. Lovato answered a bunch of questions without incident but then she took the time to detail the “funniest prank” she’d ever pulled. “I hired a lady of the night in Vegas and sent her to Max’s hotel room to surprise him. Lovato tweeted (the tweet has since been deleted). To many of her fans, and ultimately to Twitter at large, this wasn’t funny at all.

“I’m… not okay with this. Like, this is legitimately a shitty thing to do. That is sexual harassment on Demi’s part, and sexual assault on the the other woman’s part”, one fan wrote.

Another said: “I am a fan of Demi Lovato, but I am saddened by her actions that recently came to light. Sexual assault is nothing to joke about or take lightly. And just because she may be a victim herself, it doesn’t excuse her actions.”

As the controversy intensified, Lovato initially refused to back down , writing “I swear I could tweet something about craving jelly beans and it would offend someone.”

She did tweet out an apology.

She also urged fans to listen to the lyrics of hit track ‘Warrior’, which directly tackles sexual abuse.
