Emmy’s 2018 – A Guy Steals Show By Proposing & MORE

Where the Emmy’s actually GOOD last night?

There were so many highlights from an upbeat and entertaining award ceremony, we don’t know where to start! Colin Jost And Michael Che were hilarious as hosts. But, there was a FREAKIN’ live proposal!  On LIVE television.  Between 2 people, let’s be honest,  whose names I don’t know and whose relationship I have no investment in. BUT IT WAS GLORIOUS!

The show was completely stolen by a guy you’ve never even heard of.  His name is Glen Weiss, and he won an Emmy for directing the “Oscars”. And during his acceptance speech, he PROPOSED to his fiancée.  He actually brought her onstage and gave her his mother’s ring . Which was even more poignant because his mother had just DIED two weeks ago.

This man directed the Oscars so he knows what a time crunch there is, what a freaking power move!!

Wrap it up, nothing else tonight can top this (literally) award-winning adorable proposal.

Jeff Daniels won Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his role in “Godless”.  He seemed to blank at one point after thanking his driver then thanked his wife.  He also clearly spent a lot of time on horseback in the series, because he thanked his horse trainer, his horse wrangler . . . and his horse.

Michael Douglas presented the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and gave some funny advice to all the nominees who didn’t win.

One of the best moments at the Emmys last night was the very first award . . . Henry Winkler got a standing ovation when he won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for “Barry”.  He’s 72, and it’s his first Emmy after 42 years in TV.  He was nominated before  for playing the Fonz on “Happy Days” over 40 years ago.

Betty White was brought out onstage and honored for well, I guess for still being alive.  After all, she’s 96 years old.  Sadly, she wasn’t quite the Betty White of a few years ago. She’s in great shape for 96, and she produced several moments of genuine comedy, but she also had a little trouble delivering her speech.  It may finally be time to accept the fact that the years are catching up to her.
