Election Day is FINALLY Over – How Do The Celebs Feel?

The Democrats got control of the House, the Republicans kept control of the Senate, and both sides can claim some degree of victory.   Despite all the HYPE over this year’s Midterm Election, the takeaway is both GOOD and UNSATISFYING for everyone.

Doesnt it feel like the “Year of the Woman” in more ways than one? That’s my take away. Women launched the most effective, sustained resistance in generations, thousands more women looked into running for office than ever before — and then many of them did it and did it so well, they outperformed their male peers nationwide.  Women broke the current record of 84 serving at once in the U.S. House. Palestinian-American Rashida Tlaib (Michigan) and Somali-American Ilhan Omar (Minnesota) have become the first Muslim women elected to the U.S. Congress.  And Colorado elected America’s first openly gay governor, Jared Polis!

Here are a few Celebrity Election Fall-Out:

Taylor Swift was taunted by a Fox News host for urging people to vote.

Demi Lovato made it out of rehab in time to vote.  Beyoncé, who’s from Texas, came out as a Beto supporter at the last minute. But Ted Cruz won out.

The gubernatorial candidate Oprah went door to door to endorse lost in Georgia. Speaking of failed celebrity endorsements, Oprah literally went door-to-door to campaign for Democrat Stacey Abrams, who was running for Governor in Georgia.  But it appears that she lost to Republican Brian Kemp.  It still isn’t 100% settled.

And of course, the celebrities came out in DROVES to support Democrat Beto O’Rourke, who was trying to unseat Ted Cruz as a Senator from Texas, but Ted held onto his job . . . even though it was closer than some people expected.

Meghan McCain shared a photo of her dad holding her at the polls as a baby.

Olivia Wilde’s mom lost her race for the House in Virginia.

And like everyone else in America, celebrities couldn’t wait to post photos of themselves proudly displaying their ‘I Voted’ stickers.  They included:  Madonna, Jennifer Garner, Amy Schumer, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Jonas, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Neil Patrick Harris, Cindy Crawford, Borat, Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Jim Parsons, Zendaya, Eva Longoria, Janelle Monae, Jim Carrey, Mandy Moore, Olivia Wilde, and Mariska Hargitay.
