For Monday, September 8th:

Lady Gaga had the most nominations — and the most wins — last night at the MTV VMAs with four, including Artist of the Year, Best Collab with Bruno Mars, and Best Direction and Best Art Direction for Abracadabra. Bruno Mars also picked up Song of the Year with Rose, and Ariana Grande took home the Video of the Year award and two more. Other winners included Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX with Billie Eilish, Doechii, Coldplay and Alex Warren.

“The Conjuring: Last Rites” creeped its way to the top of the box office, taking in $83 million in North America. Overall the franchise has now passed the $1 Billion mark. In a very distant second place was Disney’s filmed version of “Hamilton” with $10 million in ticket sales… and “Weapons” came in third.

Amid all the Saturday Night Live cast changes and rampant rumors about even more, fans of Colin Jost can breathe easy… Scarlett Johansson confirms to EW that her husband is returning to SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’ for Season 51. No word yet whether Michael Che will be joining him.

Sydney Sweeney, Channing Tatum and Keanu Reeves were among the stars who were spotted at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
