Celebrity Status – Bruce, Katy, Kelly And Minions!
For Thursday, March 31st:
Bruce Willis has made the decision to step away from his career after a diagnosis of aphasia, a neurological condition which makes language and communication difficult. His daughter Rumer put out a family statement yesterday, ending with “As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”
Chris Rock did a standup show last night in Boston, and while he didn’t say much about ‘the slap’ situation beyond the fact that he was still processing everything, he did tell the audience he would likely address it in a more serious manner at some point
Katy Perry is getting into the podcast business! She’ll be narrating a series called “Elizabeth The First.” It’s not about the queen from the 1500s…but it IS about Hollywood royalty. The 10-episode series looks at Elizabeth Taylor as the original influencer. It will debut later this spring.
The ten-episode series House of the Dragon will debut August 31 on HBO and HBO Max. It is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and tells the story of House Targaryen.
A trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru was released Wednesday. The Despicable Me spinoff follows a young Gru as he grows up in the 1970s. Minions: The Rise of Gru opens in theaters July 1.
Kelly Clarkson has officially changed her name to Kelly Brianne but she isn’t changing the name of her show. Which is good… because she knows we’re all just going to still call her Kelly Clarkson, right?
