At the box office, ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’ sent ‘Top Gun’ down in flames for biggest US July 4th opening ever. It’s estimated to take in an impressive $127.9 million over the four-day North American holiday weekend. Maverick is still doing okay with a take of $32.5 million…and Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ swiveled its way into third place with $21 million.
Lindsay Lohan has married her longtime boyfriend Bader Shammas. He is the assistant VP at Credit Suisse in Dubai, where the two live. She will hit the small screen this holiday season with Falling for Christmas, her festive rom-com for Netflix. She stars alongside Glee’s Chord Overstreet (Trouty Mouth!) as a spoiled hotel heiress who has amnesia after a skiing accident.
Cameron Diaz is coming out of retirement for a Netflix film called Back in Action, alongside Jamie Foxx, who enlisted Tom Brady to give her some tips on how to “un-retire.”
Drake is a now an honorary Backstreet Boy! He surprised fans on Saturday night when he joined the Backstreet Boys for a rendition of “I Want It That Way” at Budweiser Stage in Toronto.
