Celebrity Status – Shawn Mendes, Golden Girls, Box Office And The Bachelorette!

Shawn Mendes has cancelled his shows for the next three weeks to take care of himself and his mental health. In his post yesterday he said the toll of being on the road and the pressure caught up to him so he needs to take a break. Don’t worry Shawn… the fans will wait. At the Box Office, sometimes lightning can strike four times. The fourth Thor movie, “Thor: Love and Thunder” struck down the competition with 143-million to put it in the number one spot. And yes, that’s Chris Hemsworth‘s daughter in the movie. The latest Minions movie,“Minions: The Rise of Gru” was bumped to number two with a still very respectable 45 million…and “Top Gun: Maverick” earned nearly $16 million for a total of almost $600 million in North America.
The Bachelorette returns tonight. The first-ever dual “journey to find “love” will see 32 men jockeying for attention from Bachelorette besties Gabby and Rachel. Tonight’s season premiere shows Jordan V. attempting to impress Rachel by showing her his fast car. To be fair, he IS a professional Top Fuel drag racer. Some of the other men on the show include a Yahtzee champ, a bartender, a leisure executive and a meatball enthusiast…I kid you not.
Kirsten Dunst and longtime boyfriend Jesse Plemons have played husband and wife several times, and now…they’re married for reals! They met on the set of the FX series Fargo in 2015 and tied the knot in Jamaica last week.
