Celebrity Status: Snoop Dogg, The Boss, And Lohan’s On Netflix Today

Universal Pictures announced Wednesday that the studio is developing a film about Snoop Dogg’s life to be produced by the 51-year-old rapper. The film will be written by Joe Robert Cole, who co-wrote the two “Black Panther” films, and directed by Allen Hughes, the filmmaker of “Menace II Society.”

 

FALLING FOR CHRISTMAS (Netflix) – Lindsay Lohan stars in this holiday film as a newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress. After a skiing accident, she suffers amnesia and wakes up in a small town, living under the care of a lodge owner and his daughter just in time for Christmas. Chord Overstreet, Jack Wagner, Olivia Perez, and George Young also star.

 

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN WILL TAKE OVER THE TONIGHT SHOW _ Bruce Springsteen is taking over NBC’s The Tonight Show with several performances over the space of a week. Promoting his new album, Only the Strong Survive, Springsteen will appear as a guest on the Jimmy Fallon-hosted show on Monday, November 14. He will debut four songs between November 14-16, with a final performance airing on the show’s Thanksgiving episode November 24.

 

SOPHIE TURNER LANDS LEAD ROLE IN TRUE-CRIME DRAMA _ Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner will star in a six-part drama inspired by notorious British jewel thief Joan Hannington. Joan is set in London in the 1980s and follows Turner as criminal Hannington, whose exploits earned her the nickname The Godmother in the city’s underworld.

 

GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW’S CELEB SPECIAL _ The Great American Baking Show is baking with star power for its holiday special this year. As seen in the above newly released trailer, Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live), Nat Faxon (The Conners), D’Arcy Carden (A League of Their Own, The Good Place), Joel Kim Booster (Loot, Fire Island), social media star Liza Koshy, and Superbowl winner Marshawn Lynch will enter the tent for the celebrity bakers edition. The six compete to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and to take him the Star Baker crown. • TRAILER

… Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry serve as co-hosts for the special, which streams on The Roku Channel beginning December 2.

 

SECOND TRAILER FOR WHITNEY BIOPIC I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY _ A second trailer has been released for the music biopic I Wanna Dance with Somebody, telling the story of singer Whitney Houston. The movie stars Naomi Ackie as Whitney, along with an ensemble cast featuring Stanley Tucci, Tamara Tunie, Clarke Peters, Ashton Sanders, Nafessa Williams, and Tanner Beard. A CHRISTMAS MOVIE FOR SLASHER FANS _ If you prefer non-traditional Christmas movies, a trailer for Christmas Bloody Christmas has been released. The upcoming slasher horror film centers around a defective Santa Claus robot who goes on a killing rampage. The film is scheduled to make its debut in theaters and on Shudder on December 9. • TRAILER

 

WIND RIVER IS GETTING A SEQUEL _ Yellowstone’s creator is about to see his feature film debut receive a new installment. Taylor Sheridan’s 2017 film Wind River, starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, is getting a sequel film titled Wind River: The Next Chapter.

… In the Wednesday press released there was no mention of either Renner or Olsen’s return.

 

DAN LEVY NEEDED 11 TRIES TO GET HIS DRIVER’S LICENSE _ Schitt’s Creek costar and The Big Brunch creator and host Dan Levy revealed that it took him “11 attempts to get my driver’s license.” Levy said, “I get very nervous. I turned left when I was supposed to turn right. Got up onto the curb while I parallel parked.”

… The new HBO Max cooking competition series follows ten talented chefs as they “share their stories and business dreams while vying for a life-altering $300,000 cash prize.”
