Celebrity Status – J-Law, The Voice, Kennedy Center, And Kesha Settles
For Friday, June 22nd:
The Voice has announced its first-ever coaching duo for season 25. Country singers Dan + Shay will get their own red chairs — no they don’t have to share one — alongside coaches Chance the Rapper, Reba McEntire and John Legend.
Some legendary entertainers will be recognized as part of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors in December, including Billy Crystal, Dionne Warwick, Queen Latifah, and Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees. The event will also pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
Not a lot of new movies in theatres this weekend but look for Jennifer Lawrence to get a little raunchy in the surprisingly sweet comedy ‘No Hard Feelings’. She was also on ‘Hot Ones’ this week promoting the movie and burning her face off.
Streaming on Disney+ is ‘World’s Best’, an all-new hip-hop musical comedy adventure about a 12-yr-old math genius turned rapper wannabe.
Gabrielle Union stars in ‘The Perfect Find’ on Netflix… and coming to Apple TV+ today, it’s the season premiere of ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series.’
In other celebrity news, Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers have reached a settlement in their divorce.
And after years of ‘he said-she said’, Kesha and Dr. Luke have settled nearly a decade of lawsuits and countersuits over her accusation that he drugged and raped her. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
