SINGER SINEAD O’CONNOR DEAD AT 56 _ Singer Sinead O’Connor has died. She was 56 years old. O’Connor, born in Dublin, became an international music star with her hit Nothing Compares 2 U. The song climbed to the top of the Billboard Music charts in 1990.
… O’Connor released ten studio albums between 1987 and 2014. Her 1991 album I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got won the Grammy for best alternative performance.
… O’Connor’s long career was not without controversy. The singer was outspoken on political matters, from Irish unification to sexual abuse in the Catholic church. During a 1992 performance on Saturday Night Live, O’Connor ripped up a photo of the pope on live television in protest.
DOLLY PARTON PROMOTED NBC OLYMPICS WITH WE WILL ROCK YOU _ Dolly Parton and NBC have collaborated to produce a promotional video for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The video features Dolly’s rendition of We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You, aiming to excite global audiences about the Games.

HARRISON FORD’S STUNT DOUBLE SETS HIMSELF ON FIRE _ On Wednesday, Harrison Ford’s stunt double, Mike Massa, set himself on fire during a SAG-AFTRA protest in Atlanta. The protest was in support of stunt workers and their demands for better working conditions. Massa, who worked on the latest Indiana Jones film, lit himself on fire as a stunt to draw attention to the issue. He was wearing a protective suit and was quickly extinguished by other protesters.
KEVIN SPACEY CLEARED _ Actor Kevin Spacey has been acquitted of all charges of sexual assault by a London jury. The allegations against Spacey covered a period between 2004 and 2013, during which he served as the artistic director at the Old Vic theater in London. The jury deliberated for a total of 12 hours and 26 minutes across three days before reaching their unanimous verdict.
… Spacey pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and expressed gratitude to the jury after being cleared. The trial involved 12 charges against the actor. The allegations were made by four men and dated back 20 years.
