Celebrity Status – Christmas Box Office, Bridgerton, Ye, And The Bachelor
For Wednesday, December 27th:
‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ dominated the new releases at the box office on the weekend. It earned an estimated $28 million in its first three days. Christmas Monday saw ‘The Color Purple’ movie musical sing its way to the second-biggest Christmas Day opening of all time, with over 18 million in ticket sales on Monday alone… beating out new movies ‘The Boys in the Boat’ from George Clooney and ‘Ferrari’, starring Adam Driver.
The rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, who has a long history of making anti-Semitic comments, apologized to the Jewish community in an Instagram post written in Hebrew on Tuesday. So there’s that… This comes less than two weeks after he went on an anti-Semitic rant in Vegas
ICYMI last week, some of the ladies from the Golden Bachelor were previewing the new season of The Bachelor. In addition to a few limo arrivals, the preview also confirms that yes, there will be a lot of tennis stuff on night one. The new Bachelor is Joey Graziadei, (henceforth known as just Joey) and as you may or may not already know, he’s a Hawaii-based tennis pro.
Last week also saw the announcement that Bridgerton will return in two parts in May and June. AND there was a set photo released that shows Penelope and Eloise speaking to one another, so hopefully there’s a reconciliation in the works — love that for them!
