Celebrity Status – SNL, Eclipse Coverage, And Sajak Says See Ya!
For Monday, April 8th:
Pat Sajak announced last June that he would be retiring after this season… and on Friday he taped his final show as the host of Wheel of Fortune. That episode will air on Friday, June 7th, but Sajak will serve as a consultant on the show for three years as the show transitions to its new host, Ryan Seacrest. Vanna White will stay on a little longer.
At the box office, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” easily swatted away the competition to hold on to the top spot for the second week in a row, taking in nearly $32 million. Dev Patel’s revenge thriller “Monkey Man” earned just over $10 million for second place and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” was hot on its heels for third.
Everywhere you turn there will be eclipse coverage, but on CBS’ special ‘Total Eclipse of the Heartland’ they’re going to have science guy Bill Nye and space traveler William Shatner. Well… he played one on TV anyway.
ICYMI: Kristen Wiig‘s hosting gig on SNL became a barrage of cameos, with Paul Rudd, Matt Damon, Jon Hamm, Will Forte, Martin Short, and Fred Armisen serenading her as she was inducted into the 5-timers Club. Oh, and Ryan Gosling was there too, ahead of his hosting gig this weekend.
And Noah Kahan‘s sold out show at Budweiser Gardens last night has been rescheduled to April 17th, after he canceled due to illness. Which means there could be a few tickets that come up for grabs. (You can join the other people in the comments on the Budweiser Gardens page who are all saying, “Looking for two tickets please…”)
