Mornings

For Monday, July 22nd:

Just a few days ahead of her 55th birthday on July 24th, Jennifer Lopez hosted a Bridgerton-themed birthday party for herself in the Hamptons, complete with ball gowns and horse-drawn carriages. Ben Affleck was not in attendance, nor did the couple celebrate their second wedding anniversary last week, although he was spotted wearing his wedding ring on Friday. So many mixed messages!

At the box office, ‘Twisters’ blew into theatres, exceeding expectations and destroying the competition with an $80.5 million debut over the weekend. In second place, ‘Despicable Me 4’ earned $23.8 million in its third week of release, and ‘Inside Out 2’ was third. It’s now about to pass Frozen 2 to become the highest grossing animated film of all time.

A TV special to honour Bob Newhart, who passed away Thursday, will air tonight on CBS. It will feature some behind-the-scenes footage, never-before-seen interviews and will also include interviews with his celebrity colleagues including Jim Parsons, Will Ferrell, Jason Bateman, and Reese Witherspoon.

Today, the U.S. Postal Service will release a new stamp honoring late Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, who hosted the show for 37 seasons. The stamp release is in the form of a question (as it should be!) and coincides with the 60th anniversary of Jeopardy.

Elsewhere, Kim Cattrall denied reports that she’s returning for ‘And Just Like That’ season 3, despite having a brief cameo in season 2.

Tonight on ‘The Bachelorette’, Jenn invites the guys to a male dance revue.

And celebs are throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden endorsed her as the next Democratic Presidential candidate.
