Celebrity Status – New Game Show, Celeb Marriage, And The Emmy Noms

For Thursday, July 18th:

Emmy nominations are out! “The Crown”, “Fallout”, “The Gilded Age”,  “Shōgun”, which leads this year’s drama category with 25 nominations, and “3 Body Problem” are among the nominees for Outstanding Drama Series. Outstanding lead actor nominees include Idris Elba, Donald Glover, and Dominic West… Outstanding lead actress has Jennifer Aniston and her Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon along with Imelda Staunton and Maya Erskine.

Outstanding Comedy Series could go to ‘Abbott Elementary”, “The Bear,” which earned a record-breaking 23 nominations for a comedy category, “Hacks” and “Only Murders in the Building” among others… and other nominees include The Voice, The Amazing Race, Sofia Vergara for ‘Griselda’, Jodie Foster, Dakota Fanning, a couple for Jon Hamm and a nod for all the stars of ‘Only Murders…’ along with a bunch of their guest stars. Trophies will be handed out September 15th.

In other celeb stuff, Fred Armisen and Riki Lindhome revealed this week that they’ve been married for 2 years after connecting on the set of ‘Wednesday.’

Shaquille O’Neal and Gina Rodriguez host the new game show ‘Lucky 13’ (which is exec produced by Kevin Bacon). It tests contestants’ knowledge with 13 true-or-false trivia questions.

The upcoming biopic, “Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall” delves into the life of Youree Dell Harris, also known as Miss Cleo, who rose to fame in the late ’90s as a television psychic. It premieres on Lifetime August 10th.

Apple TV+ has renewed Maya Rudolph‘s show ‘Loot’ for season three. And ‘Cobra Kai’ is back on Netflix for its final season premiere, part 1. The sixth and final season will be split into three parts.
