James Earl Jones, who overcame racial prejudice and a severe stutter to become an icon of stage and screen has died. To many of us he was Darth Vader and “The Lion King” along with so many more wonderful characters. He won two Emmys, a Golden Globe, two Tony Awards, a Grammy, the National Medal of Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors. He was also given an honorary Oscar and a special Tony for lifetime achievement. James Earl Jones was 93.
Owen Riegling announced yesterday that he is heading out on his first headlining tour this fall. It’s called The Old Dirt Road Trip, kicking off in Halifax November 11th and also making stops near us in London, Hamilton and Toronto. This Saturday evening you can hang out at Harley’s in Mildmay and cheer him on at a CCMA watch party. He’s up for four awards including Entertainer of the Year.
Selena Gomez has shared some very personal info with fans. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, she has revealed that while she cannot become pregnant herself, she’s already thinking about other ways to have kids, including adoption. Previously she had said that before she met Benny Blanco, she had planned to adopt when she reached age 35.
Drew Barrymore has heard everyone’s comments and says she is going to try her best to put some distance between herself and her talk show guests. Her touchy-feeliness has divided viewers, but it’s fair to say it’s just who she is. Barrymore herself isn’t sure that she’ll be able to break the habit

Dolly has given millions of dollars to many causes, one of which is the Imagination Library to provide books for children everywhere; now, she’s giving a little something to parents for after the kids have gone to bed.
