Ryan Gosling and Martin Short are among the Canadians nominated for the 76th Emmy Awards, set to be handed out Sept. 15. Gosling is a first-time nominee for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his turn hosting Saturday Night Live, while Short receives his third nod for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Only Murders in the Building. and for a little more Canadian representation, Eugene and Dan Levy will host.
Bad Bunny is set to make a big splash in Hollywood as he joins the cast of Adam Sandler’s upcoming “Happy Gilmore” movie sequel.… Alongside Sandler returning as the iconic Happy Gilmore, Julie Bowen is returning as Virginia Venit, and Christopher McDonald will be back as the notorious Shooter McGavin. Filming is underway, but don’t look for it in theatres. It’s a Netflix project.
At the movies, ‘Transformers One’ looks to be the big draw this weekend. It’s the origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron on their home planet of Cybertron. The voice cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Keegan-Michael Key, and Laurence Fishburne
James McAvoy stars in ‘Speak No Evil’, a psychological thriller set on a British country estate… ‘The Killer’s Game‘ stars Dave Bautista, Ice Cube, Ben Kingsley, Terry Crews, among others… and Disney+ has the animated special ‘Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy’
