Celebrity Status – Carrie Underwood, Hollywood Ambassadors, And John Cena

Carrie Underwood had to improvise when there was a problem with her accompanying music for her performance of America the Beautiful at the presidential inauguration. She did a quick check with someone and then sang it a capella. And to no one’s surprise, she did a great job. While she has never publicly supported Trump, she has faced backlash and disappointment from some of her fans for agreeing to perform yesterday.
And now, a few celebs have been given honorary appointments in the new Trump administration. Trump has appointed Sylvester Stallone, Jon Voight and Mel Gibson as Ambassadors to Hollywood to act as special envoys to the President. No idea what if anything they will actually do.
The Black Eyed Peas have cancelled their Las Vegas Residency that was supposed to begin next month, citing current circumstances. There is online speculation that tickets weren’t selling very well
Thandiwe Newton and Silo actor Steve Zahn have been added to the cast of ‘Anaconda’, a comedic reimagining of the 1997 horror movie from Columbia Pictures. Paul Rudd and Jack Black also star. It’s expected to hit theatres on Christmas Day.
And John Cena has a new limited series starting today called ‘What Drives You.’ Think Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.’ The four episodes will feature several guests like Logan Paul, Jelly Roll, Travis Barker and more.
