Mornings

For Monday, June 9th:

In its third weekend, the live action ‘Lilo and Stitch’ still had legs – well, two legs and four arms to be exact — enough to take the number one spot at the box office once again with $32.5 million. The John Wick spinoff ‘Ballerina’ starring Ana de Armas, danced into second place with about $25 million, and “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” slid to third place with $15 million, but don’t feel sorry for them… its worldwide total is now more than $450 million.

Miley Cyrus was heckled after the world premiere of her 55-minute visual album, Something Beautiful, at the Tribeca Film Festival Friday night, by audience members who thought she should be singing. She ended up singing a little something and made a very positive social post, but her fans were all over the entitled audience members who made a scene.

At the Tony Awards, George Clooney’s Good Night and Good Luck was shut out despite five nominations, Nicole Scherzinger, formerly of the Pussycat Dolls, won the Tony for Best Actress in a musical. Darren Criss, from GLEE, won Best Lead Actor in a musical… and Sarah Snook from Succession won for best lead actress in a play.

ICYMI: Borrowing an idea from the Puppy Bowl, The Stanley Pup Special was on SportsNet yesterday to raise awareness for pets who need homes, featuring the likes of Sidney Pawsby, Dustin Woof, Filip Fursburg and more. And there were special appearances by Tim Allen, Cedric the Entertainer, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Buble. You can find it on YouTube… and find our Pets of the Week on our website.

And coming to Crave today, ‘I Am Luke Perry’ a documentary celebrating the life of the late Beverly Hills, 90210 actor.
