
Celebrity Status – New Docs, BET Awards And No ‘suit For You!

It Ends With Us director and star Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, was dismissed by a federal judge in New York on Monday. Lively’s team will now be seeking attorneys’ fees and damages for the dismissed suit. Her original lawsuit still stands and will go to trial in 2026.
Kevin Hart hosted the 25th BET Awards last night. Winners included, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Kendrick Lamar and SZA together for best collab, Kendrick Lamar a few more times… plus Doechii, Denzel Washington, Cynthia Erivo, Beyoncé didn’t win but her daughter Blue Ivy Carter did… and Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, and Snoop Dogg were each honored with the Ultimate Icon Award.
Netflix has a couple of documentaries coming to the streamer today… Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy examines the events that led up to the deadly chaos of Travis Scott’s third Astroworld Festival in 2021. And also ‘Titan: The OceanGate Disaster’ about the submersible that imploded in 2023 on a deep-sea dive to the Titanic.
Meanwhile, comedian Jim Jefferies hosts a new Traitors-esque “social survival of the fittest” competition called ‘The Snake’. It premieres tonight on Global.
Jared Leto is denying sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women, some who say they were underage at the time.
