Celebrity Status – Box Office, Two Weddings, And Billie’s Latest Collab
For Monday, July 21st:
At the Box Office, the Man of Steel remained the hero of the weekend. “Superman” took in over $57 million in North America and it surpassed the $400 million mark worldwide. “Jurassic World: Rebirth” also held its ground in second place with $23.4 million. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” opened in a disappointing third place with just $13 million
Director James Cameron took a break from Pandora to visit Billie Eilish over the weekend in the far-away land of… Manchester. Eilish announced during her concert in the U.K. Saturday night that Cameron was in attendance and that the two are teaming up for a special project… in 3-D! All four of her shows in Manchester are being filmed but that’s all we know so far.
Not great news for fans of The Last of Us… We had to wait two years and one month between seasons 1 and 2 of The Last of Us, and according to HBO content CEO Casey Bloys we’ll have to wait AS long, if not longer for season 3, but it IS expected to arrive sometime in 2027
In other headlines, Denise Richards’ estranged husband Aaron Phypers is appealing to her family and friends, claiming she is in need of an immediate intervention.
In happier news, Charli XCX got married! She tied the knot with drummer George Daniel of The 1975 over the weekend after 3 years together.
And Josh Lucas of Yellowstone (he plays a young John Dutton and he was also Reese Witherspoon’s love interest in Sweet Home Alabama back when) married Los Angeles meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo — no relation to Mark Ruffalo — at a ceremony inside the Vatican on Friday.
