Mornings

For Tuesday, July 22nd:

Last night the sad news was reported that Malcolm Jamal-Warner, best known as Theo Huxtable on the Cosby Show, passed away while on a family vacation in Costa Rica. Officials say he drowned after being swept away by a current in the ocean. He was rescued by bystanders but was unable to be revived on the beach. Malcolm Jamal-Warner was 54.

Sia has had a busy year. She quietly filed for divorce from husband Dan Bernard just months after welcoming a baby girl. She also has two teenagers. This week she promoted the link to sign up for the upcoming Netflix show Let’s Marry Harry. Harry is Harry Jowsey, a reality TV star as the show title suggests. She’s 49, he’s 28 and they’re both Australian. Now, two days earlier they were spotted holding hands outside a restaurant in LA, according to Us Weekly. So how can there be a Bachelor-like show with contestants if they’re already dating??

The Toronto International Film Festival has announced some of this year’s features. “Good Fortune,” starring Keanu Reeves as an angel trying to teach a struggling man (played by Aziz Ansari) a lesson; “Christy,” with Sydney Sweeney playing the boxer Christy Martin; “Couture,” starring Angelina Jolie as an American filmmaker attending Paris Fashion Week; and “Roofman,” starring Channing Tatum as a struggling father turned thief. Look for these stars and more in Toronto in September. TIFF previously announced the third Knives Out movie would also premiere at the Festival.

And 22 years after Dawson’s Creek, it looks like Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson will be reuniting for a film trilogy about the ‘pursuit of love.’ Holmes will direct and star in the “Happy Hours” trilogy alongside Joshua Jackson, whom she dated on and off-screen in the late 1990s.
