Celebrity Status – New Movies, Ed’s New Album, And Farewell To Downton

At the movies this weekend, after 15 years — six seasons of the TV series and now three films — Downton Abbey says farewell with ‘The Grand Finale’. All over the internet people are dressing in period costume to see the final movie, and the comments are all positive. It has an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Also in theaters, a group of young men participate in ‘The Long Walk’, an adaptation of Stephen King‘s novel, where the last one alive wins a substantial amount of money. Plus, the Spinal Tap sequel ‘The End Continues’, and the Miranda Cosgrove rom-com ‘The Wrong Paris’.
On the small screen… after six years, season three of ‘Big Little Lies’ is officially in the works at HBO. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, along with Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley may all be returning but no one is under contract just yet.
And Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller wants to make a Silence of the Lambs TV adaptation starring Zendaya as Clarice Starling.
In other headlines, Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev and snowboarder Shaun White are no longer engaged. They were together since 2019.
