Celebrity Status – Jays, Jonas And Pharrell, And The Bear Becomes The Boss
For Friday, October 24th:
It’s Game one of the World Series tonight! At 8 p.m., Niagara Falls will be illuminated in blue at the start of both home games tonight and tomorrow night. At Rogers Centre, Pharrell Williams will perform for game one, alongside his uncle Bishop Ezekiel Williams’ group Voices of Fire, and then the gospel choir performs both the American and Canadian anthems.
Tomorrow night, the Jonas Brothers will be on hand to perform and help raise funds for cancer research. Their latest single, I Can’t Lose, is the official song of Mastercard’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign. Fans will rise and hold placards honouring those affected by cancer.
At the movies, The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is getting out of the kitchen and strapping on a guitar to become The Boss for the biopic ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,’ about the making of his 1982 album Nebraska.
On streaming, Kathryn Bigelow’s movie ‘A House of Dynamite’ comes to Netflix today, starring an ensemble cast including Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson. On Prime, ‘Eden’ is the shocking true story of a group of outsiders — played by Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney and more — who settle on a remote island and discover their greatest threat isn’t what you think. And on Sunday, Pennywise is back for the prequel series “IT: Welcome to Derry” on HBO
And Emma Stone was asked on The Late Show earlier this week to identify the celebrity she thinks is most likely to be an alien secretly posing as a human. Without hesitation she said, “Willem Dafoe, hundred percent… And a great one! If they’re all like Willem, bring ‘em on! Land upon Earth, please!”
