Mornings

For Thursday, October 16th:

Jim Carrey may soon be heading to space — sort of. He is in early talks to star in a Warner Bros. live-action adaptation of “The Jetsons”… and we’re all glad that his talk about retiring back in 2022 was just that — talk. So far, there is no other casting info.

On streaming, you can always find true crime documentaries… “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” premieres today on Peacock, and Variety has learned that the streamer is already in discussions to focus the second “Devil in Disguise” season on the notorious “Night Stalker,” aka Richard Ramirez.

Elsewhere, Season 3 of The Diplomat starring Keri Russell lands on Netflix today… And Marvel Animation has announced the second season of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” will release on Disney+ in fall 2026. The news came at New York Comic Con, along with a trailer shown to fans in the room.

Diane Keaton‘s family is thanking everyone for the outpouring of love and support. They revealed her cause of death in a statement to PEOPLE, saying she died from pneumonia.

Reese Witherspoon‘s first novel for adults called “Gone Before Goodbye” has just been published, and was written with author Harlan Coben. While many of his books have been adapted to the big and small screen, both authors say they’d like this one just to be enjoyed as a novel — for now, anyway.

And there’s a trailer out for SEND HELP, the next movie for Rachel McAdams… also starring Dylan O’Brien. The two play colleagues who find themselves stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. It’s definitely not a love story… it gets a little dark. Look for it in theaters January 30th.
