Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi surprised fans yesterday in Vancouver. Following the final concert on the North American leg of his tour, he took the stage for an impromptu performance at a Vancouver Irish pub. Which of his songs did he sing, you ask? He didn’t. He chose Don’t Look Back in Anger from Oasis and Have You Ever Seen The Rain from CCR… and I bet the house band, The Sweet Tarts, didn’t even mind. He also took some photos with fans and hung out for a bit.
A contestant on ‘The Price Is Right’ set a record for a single game prize last Friday on a special Mother’s Day episode of the show. Retired U.S. Army veteran Vanesa McCaskell won over $240,000 playing The Lion’s Share, a BetMGM-sponsored game.
“Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie is set to host a new game show based on ‘Wordle’. Jimmy Fallon is an executive producer of the new show, and was a guest on the Today show yesterday to announce the collaboration with The New York Times. Guthrie, whose mother has been missing since February 1st, is happy to have something to look forward to. Shooting will begin this summer, and the show is currently looking for contestants.
The Netflix sequel series to ‘A Different World’ finished filming in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. Stars Kadeem Hardison and Jasmine Guy, along with Jada Pinkett-Smith and several other original cast members will be back.
The American Idol season 24 winner was revealed last night in a star-studded finale, which included performances by judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, as well as guests such as Alicia Keys. After the final three sang two songs it was revealed that Hannah Harper was the winner.
