Celebrity Status – Rodrigo, Tarantino, And RIP Clive Davis
For Tuesday, June 23rd:
Olivia Rodrigo is hosting her own music festival, she confirmed on Monday, booking a star-studded, all women bill featuring the likes of herself, Chappell Roan, Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan to name a few.
The festival will be called Daisy Chain Fields, and will take place on Aug. 29th in Irvine, California and will also feature Katseye, Bikini Kill, Doechii, Garbage, and more.
Quentin Tarantino will do anything to avoid directing his 10th film. He has previously said that the tenth movie he directs will be his last, but he clearly isn’t ready for retirement, as it seems he’s doing everything else possible, including writing a Once Upon a Time sequel and preparing a play for a West End premiere. And now he’s set to star in the film ‘Tangled Up in Blue’, currently wrapping production in Cardiff, Wales. Tarantino will star alongside Kylie Minogue, Allison Williams, and RZA.
Standup comedian Louis C.K., Jay Leno and TV commentator Stephen A. Smith are among the big names who will participate in the celebration of Bill Maher when he receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor this Sunday from the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
Clive Davis, the legendary music executive behind the careers of Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, and Kelly Clarkson among many others, passed away Monday from age-related illness. He was 94. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 2000.
Romeo Beckham, son of David Beckham and Posh Spice, is making his acting debut in the tennis romance ‘Forty Love’. Think ‘Heated Rivalry’, only tennis. He has been modeling for several years for the biggest luxury brands like Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
