Celebrity Status – Matthew Perry Docuseries, Twyla On GA, And Jim Carrey Got Hitched
For Thursday, October 1st:
The trailer is out now for ‘The One About Matthew Perry.’ It’s the first in-depth documentary about everyone’s favourite Friend, and tells his story from the perspective of some of the people who knew him best. The intimate, three-part series features unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family, and premieres Oct. 27th on Netflix.
Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story is produced by Ryan Reynolds and follows Rick Hansen’s 26-month, mid-80s worldwide tour to raise funds and awareness for spinal cord injuries. Hansen wheeled 40,000 kilometres through 34 countries during his Man in Motion Tour. The film will screen at this year’s Vancouver Film Festival starting today, before hitting theatres Nov. 1st.
Rob Lowe says a St. Elmo’s Fire sequel is in the works. He and others have met with the studio, but he says, “It’s very, very, very, very, very early stages. So we will see.” And fun fact: the theme song for the 1985 movie St. Elmo’s Fire was called Man In Motion and it was a direct reference to Rick Hansen’s tour.
Congratulations are in order for Jim Carrey, who tied the knot with his girlfriend Min Ah. TMZ reports that they swapped vows in a small, private ceremony in Los Angeles. He said more than once that he wouldn’t get married again after two failed marriages, but it seems he found someone to change his mind.
Eugene Levy’s daughter, Sarah Levy aka Twyla from Schitt’s Creek, is joining the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy! She’ll be playing an expectant mother, Corrie Witty, in season 23. No word on which episode, but look for the season premiere October 15th on ABC.
