Disney’s live-action remake trend continues with a reboot of Moana. Dwayne Johnson, who voiced Maui in the original film, confirmed his involvement in the remake, and although there are no other casting details yet, fans are already hoping for Zendaya as Moana.
The CBC recently published a report saying Canadian icon Buffy Sainte-Marie was born to parents of European ancestry in Massachusetts, not to an Indigenous family in Canada. ‘The Fifth Estate’ aired an accompanying episode delving into the story. Sainte-Marie has denounced the allegations about her heritage (I did watch The Fifth Estate on the weekend and there are a lot of things that don’t quite jive. ~Julie B)
