Kristen Wiig currently stars in the AppleTV+ mini-series Palm Royale, set in 1969 Palm Beach featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ricky Martin, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Carol Burnett. And Wiig will officially become a member of the coveted SNL Five-Timers Club, as she hosts the show this weekend. She will join the ranks of Tom Hanks, Tina Fey and Emma Stone, among others. Raye is the musical guest.
On streaming today, Netflix debuts ‘Scoop’, a behind-the-scenes drama about that disastrous interview Prince Andrew gave in 2019 in response to allegations of sexual misconduct. It stars Rufus Sewell as Andrew and Gillian Anderson as journalist Emily Maitlis… and Colin Farrell is private detective John Sugar in the new Apple Tv+ series ‘Sugar’
In theatres this weekend, Dev Patel stars in and makes his directorial debut with the action flick ‘Monkey Man’… along with ‘The First Omen’, a prequel to the original Omen franchise.
In potential sequel news, Dune 3 is officially in the works… and on her show this week Drew Barrymore spilled the tea about Adam Sandler’s rumoured Happy Gilmore sequel, saying ‘It is in process.’
